I have four energetic kids and a beautiful wife without whom life would be much less interesting.

I currently live in Northern Virginia, U.S., which is where I'm from originally, but I used to live in Dominica, West Indies (my wife's country) and we intend to return there permanently in a few years.

I direct e-learning for a small university here, and have strong interests in distance learning and higher education.  I've also taught online courses for a tribal college out West and I do some freelance writing and advising on distance learning issues.

I am an advocate for free culture, meaning that I think people's access to information is more important than the monopoly entitlements of copyright and patent.

I do not believe in initiating aggression, and I prefer to live in a way that minimizes the harm done to others.  Two consequences of this are that I am libertarian and that I am vegan.  In fact, veganism is important enough to me that I am researching vegan nutrition education for my doctoral dissertation.
